Porcupine Ridge Merlot 2010, Coastal Region

This wine is made by Boekenhoutskloof, a modern winery in the Franschoek Valley, which planted its first vines in 1993. The area has a cool climate and an abundance of water, making it ideal for growing a wide range of grape varieties. Generous flavours of red berry fruit and ripe plums and a soft and supple texture on the palate. The tannins are smooth and complemented by touches of oak. A great wine to drink with simple red meat dishes such as homemade burgers, beef sausages or pork chops.
