L’Epiphanie de Stellenbosch Red Wine

Our Épiphanie label is usually reserved for very top wines from Bordeaux. Secret deals from Premier or Grand Cru Classé estates that are willing to part with a little extra stock at a bargain price, as long as we don’t reveal the source. L’Épiphanie de Stellenbosch, however is a super, Grand Cru style red from an exceptional estate in South Africa with strong Bordeaux connections. The cellar was founded by two legendary Bordeaux figures, who wanted to try winemaking further afield, so joined with the former owner of a leading Cape cellar. Today their wines have a tremendous reputation. With five years age, this red is a powerful, balanced blend of Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot and Malbec, aged 18 months in part new oak. Velvety, dark and textured – a real treat with roast beef.
