Description
L’Aventure was created by Bordeaux-born Stephan Asseo. A rulebreaker by nature, it was only a matter of time before he broke free of the appellation restrictions of his native France and looked further afield. After travelling to South Africa, Lebanon and Argentina, his quest finally took him to the edge of Paso Robles in California. Here he found his winemaking paradise and launched L’Aventure in 1996. The rolling Santa Lucia mountain range, deep calcareous soils, and the maritime climate of the Templeton Gap all combine to create idyllic winemaking country, with the potential to craft some of the world’s greatest blends. That potential has been fully realised in Optimus. Savour with slow-cooked lamb shanks or a rich vegetable moussaka.
