Bellingham wine-maker Niel Groenewald located an exceptional pocket of old, low-yielding Chenin Blanc bush vines. Excited by the intense, even-ripening and rich quality of the fruit, he vinified a limited volume of lightly-wooded, lavish and full-bodied wine with a well-rounded, seamless mouthfeel. The result was so good that Niel felt the wine deserved its own unique identity and created “The Bernard Series” concept.
