One day, with co-winemakers Anthony de Jager and Charl du Plessis, he came across a special vineyard along one of the many ‘roads less travelled’ that crisscross the winelands of the Cape. He bought the grapes and made a brilliant Sauvignon that captures the extra ripeness and class of South Africa’s cracking 2012 vintage.Fresh, crisp, zesty, with lovely aromatic gooseberry fruit, Detour is tops with seafood, and well suited to salads and vegetarian dishes too.
