A talented winemaker with seemingly boundless energy, Bruce Jack was awarded South Africa’s ‘Winemaker of the Year’ in 2009. Perhaps his enthusiasm is due to him being struck by lightning while working a vintage in Bordeaux. And that was after studying a degree in English and Politics in the Cape, English literature at St Andrews, then oenology at Australia’s renowned Roseworthy. He certainly knows the technical side of wine inside out and used his skills to extract the ripe berry flavour of Pinotage in this wine – allowing just enough skin contact after delicate pressing to give a beautiful pink hue.The grapes come from coastal cooled vineyards that lend crisp elegant fruit. Tasty solo or with fish, spicy stir-fry or sauced white meats.
